Sausage Mummies

Wrap your favourite sausages in puff pastry bandages for the spookiest sausage mummies.

Ingredients

  • 1-2 sheets premade shortcrust pastry
  • 8 of your favourite fresh sausages
  • olive oil
  • thick yellow mustard (for the eyes)
  • candy eyes

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C and line a baking tray
  2. Place the sausages on the baking tray and bake for 10 minutes
  3. Remove from the oven and allow the sausages to cool
  4. Cut the pastry into thin 1/2cm strips
  5. Wrap each sausage unevenly and slightly skew with the pastry strips, leaving a gap towards the top for the eyes
  6. Return to the oven and bake until pastry is golden
  7. Once cooked, remove the sausages and place two little dollops of mustard in the gaps to create the eyes. Gently stick on the candy eyes and enjoy!
